Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 August 2026

Proxa is built to keep your data on your device. This policy explains what that means in practice.

Proxa (“Proxa”, “the app”) is a rule-based proxy and network-inspection tool for macOS and iOS, published by Nexbit Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”). This policy applies to the Proxa apps and this website, getproxa.app.

The short version

What Proxa processes on your device

To do its job, Proxa handles the following locally and stores it in the app’s private, on-device storage:

This information is used only to provide the app’s features on your device. It is not transmitted to us. You can delete captured traffic at any time in the app, and removing the app removes its stored data.

Network connections Proxa makes

Because Proxa is a networking tool, it makes connections on your behalf. These go to destinations you configure or request — not to us:

The VPN / Network Extension permission

On iOS, Proxa installs a VPN configuration and uses Apple’s Network Extension to route your device’s traffic through its on-device engine; on macOS it uses a system network extension. This is what lets Proxa apply your rules. It runs entirely on your device — Proxa is not a commercial VPN service, and this permission is not used to send your traffic to us.

Before Proxa captures anything, the app itself shows you a disclosure of what it can see, where that is stored, and what leaves your device, and asks you to agree. Capture does not start until you do. The same disclosure stays available in the app at Settings → Privacy → Data & Privacy, where you can withdraw your agreement; withdrawing stops capture.

Cookies and browser storage on this website

This website loads no analytics, embeds no third-party scripts, and sets no advertising or tracking cookies. There is nothing here that follows you to another site, so there is no consent banner asking you to permit it. What the site does store is this, in full:

The first two are ordinary browser storage rather than cookies, and none of the three is used for advertising or measurement. Clearing your browser’s storage for this site removes all of them; the theme reverts to following your system, and the notice appears once more. If we ever add analytics, we will ask first, and refusing will mean it is not loaded at all.

Diagnostics

We do not collect analytics from within the app. If you obtain Proxa through the App Store or Apple TestFlight and choose to share diagnostics with Apple, Apple may provide us with crash logs and basic diagnostic information under Apple’s terms — see Apple’s privacy policy. Any crash report you email us is used only to fix the problem.

Children

Proxa is a developer and power-user tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Because your data stays on your device, its security is tied to your device’s security. Sensitive material such as an inspection root key is stored in the system Keychain. Keep your device and operating system up to date, and only install root certificates and configurations you understand.

Your rights

Because we do not hold your personal data on our servers, requests such as access, correction, and deletion are satisfied directly on your device: your data lives in the app, and you control it. If you have questions about this, contact us below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
